OIC scavenger sketch - my favorite shoe

I love high-heeled shoes! My brown leather pumps from SCHU.
It's not a spectacular-looking pair of shoes, but it's comfortable and high enough!
Pen and watercolour, and the little people are penciled in.

oic scavenger sketch- fav shoes

Black leather high cut converse shoes. Wanted them after seeing them in i-robot. They were rare antique shoes in the future in that movie. Resisted the longest time to get these shoes. And when i finally wanted to get them, they were all sold out arnd singapore. But i managed to find one last pair at peninsula. They aren't shipping these in anymore apparently! (Drawing done with signo pen and zig brush pens.)

Ice-cream peddler

Hello Everyone, I'm Amanda and was introduced to OIC through San San at a Children's Book Conference. Happy to be part of OIC. :) I like drawing on location, almost like taking photos with your drawings. The ice-cream peddler was done in bout 10 mins outside Orchard MRT and the ION. Pen with color pencil filled in after I got home. If anyone is keen to sketch on locations or at the zoo, let me know!

weight lifting with your willy

I was trying to draw some interesting facial expression and I remembered a documentary on TV channel 8 couple months back where these chinese uncles gathered together and practise their "qi" as well as work on some mojo and they do it , by swinging various weights on their testicles.. and I am thinking.."gosh.. that must hurts and what a wonderful expression it will make"..hence the picture..as I imagine their pain as they practise and grunt and exercise their willy.

drawings from magazine and internet references for practice.
Brush, acrylic white and ink on recycled paper. with toothbrush splatters.

Gary Baseman Interview @ Fecal Face

Gary Baseman is a hero and welcome relief for those who don't dig/ draw like Audrey Kawasaki, James Jean or Takehiko Inoue. Its full of mojo, cute, colourful, irreverent, in your face and it brings a manic smile to my face when I look at his stuff.

Love the part where he describes his process-
"Describe your process of creating a new piece-
I dream. I draw. And I draw again. Then I draw again and again. And I see what stays with me. What gives me meaning. Then I start creating a body of work. Does that make sense?"

Fecal Face - Gary Baseman Interview

Any Baseman fans in OIC?? :D

Street Fash and Black Mesh

Style Deficit Disorder showcases some of the best in Japanese street culture. Among my favorites are the Hysteric Glamour label and H.Naoto. Came across Zaldy on Style.com and I remain strong in the belief that black is forever. Man, I can't wait to go to Japan.

Pen on paper, coloured in Photoshop.

The artist for "Vagabond" was having an exhibition at a museum at Ueno Park in Tokyo. It hadn't started when i was there mid May. But it's quite cool that comic art is being exhibited as contemporary fine art. This is a huge billboard I wish I cld hang on my room wall.

Flying Machine

This is a flying machine I did today while waiting to some jobs. Exact time not sure but won't be too long.

The idea is to create some low tech look but high tech vehicle. Inspire but antique airplanes and cars.
