ohhh san francisco

Neale over at fivewhys found some really sweet stuff in the bay area.

i really love how the artist makes use of the depth caused by many layers of paint drips overlaying one another. thought the koi kinda looked like they were swimming underwater.

and this... brings back some memories of good ol' 8-bit dayslove the perspective. he wrote more about it in his post here.

Illustrations for Durex ads

Some illustrations that I did way back in May (seems so long ago) for Durex ad campaign. I think its out now in some magazines. The idea was to create a body painting look so I had to paint in some paint textures for the illustrations, however the textures aren't that visible in the finals..

whale-based on a real story

Recently, there was a report of a whale calf who got stranded from its mum in Australia , and mistaken a boat for its mum, and even tried to get milk from it. In the end, it had to be put to sleep ,as it was weak and infested badly with parasites..

Roadsworth the Documentary

There is a very clear line separating vandalism and art.
However, i can't decide which is which in this case.
This is a 6 minute trailer from the documentary Roadsworth - Crossing The Line.
Art or Crime, you be the judge.

ION artwork vandalised

This is 1 of the many graffiti that was sprayed over our artwork at ION. I think its a disgrace to our brothers/ sisters who practice graffiti tagging here that we have people who can just abuse a spray can like that.
Please respect other artist's work. To earn respect you need to show others respect! Anyone knows who's tag sign this is, please email me privately! This guy is a disgrace to the creative community imho!!

My very first nude figure drawing session

I sleepily went for a 6 weeks figure drawing class. I had the idea that it was one of those take turns and pose sort of class. But I was SO wrong. Admist my half awake state, my lecturer walked in and announced that our model would be late. Lo and behold, I had signed myself up for nude figure drawing class! What a way to wake me up, really. Haha. But yes, it was good. My first attempt at nude figure drawing. I started off with really lousy drawings, but improved along the way. Here are the nicer ones.

These are all twenty minute sketches. I felt uncomfortable at first but about ten minutes into the session, I got carried away, and just kept drawing, contour after contour, line after line. There's really something about listening to Jazz and Big Band music while doing nude figure drawing. Very therapeutic actually.
