Mamarine on ALL calendar '07

Hi all.

The Animal Lovers League 2007 Calendar has been out for a few months.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is a calendar:

- that can be constructed into either a dog or a cat (both heads and respective tails are included in the pack)

- that can be re-used as a photoframe. don't we all love recycling?

- which entire sales profit go into sustaining an animal shelter that houses more than 500 cats and 200 dogs (this shelter has a no-kill policy, which means the animals get to live there to a ripe old age even if they do not get adopted)

- that allows you to customise it. talk about exercising of creativity.

please do support the cause, especially if you still want to get a gift for that animal-loving friend of yours. At only $10, this is a fun and meaningful product.

As the calendar is also an canvas for anybody to exercise his or her creative muscles, we've been receiving pictures of customised calendars. one of the volunteers at A.L.L. set up a flickr account to showcase them:

some of these were actually done up by members of OIC! thanks to Flee, WDB, Eeshaun and Ann Gee, those that you guys customised had helped fetch good money for the shelter. On behalf of the animals, thanks!

This is a copy that i had drawn on, for Juan. The mermaid is one of my characters, Mamarine, who has a receding hairline and suffers from low self-esteem.

Anyone interested to take up this MAP job?

Sentosa Resort & Spa is looking for someone who can help them re-new their map. anyone interested pls email to Geri Lee at this is wat they emailed me:

"We are looking at re-doing our hotel map with a new look and feel. The hotel map will be printed into poster (H58cm x W80cm) and hanged in the hotel lobby, and as welcome inserts (H13.5cm x W17cm open) for our hotel guests when they checked in. We would appreciate if you could give us a quote and recommendation for this project. You may wish to come down for a site recce in order to help you understand better.."

btw, this is their old map:

How my mind works...
JT was chatting with me.. and it was over a friend..and JT mentioned that how we sometimes
tie ourselves up in knots over little things or incidents in mind spring out this image, at that moment and I quickly do a little quick doodle of it on a notepad. and work on it in photoshop directly after that. sorry for the rant. Just want to say that ideas/inspiration is that snippets of conversation..that little gazing u do over
coffee, everything around you.

ABCs of Gardening

cat woman & misfits

after graduating from satay sticks as felt tip nibs,
reaising as they work well only on fabrics.
i found a new makeshift instrument!
inexpensive and good for typography as well.
the inks have a bit of odour, so i get headaches
but all in the name of new pursuits in illustration!

you can guess what those words refer to,
but that will be my little secret for now ;}

Just nice to go back to basics sometimes heh. Anything wrong with it though? Looks a bit funny to me.
