Yea good point mike, the outer gold is a little bit overpowering, should've used a thicker type or played down the curls, yikes!
Yup pathed/vectored in photoshop with tons of references, import to freehand to drop colours in and then back to photoshop for dropshadows, emboss effects etc. I better learn illustrator someday lol

yo bro- u can actually do almost all the effects straight in Illustrator CS3- its quite capable.
I know its a pain ( I was a strong Freehand user since version 3 myself )
but better learn Illustrator- its quite useful. Freehand is dead- but some features may appear in Illustrator CS 4.
i like the little 3d effect on the frames. of coz your attention to details as well.
