F1 night race

An F1 illustration I did for TimeOut magazine last month. The idea was to have the streaks of light from the race cars form the outline of an F1 car amidst the city lights. The city is not based on any specific geography. I sort of did a weird amalgam of landmarks and added buildings, roads and highways in between.

yeah I had to look at a lot of satellite or bird's eye view pics for reference. Wish I could have used Google maps but no, they're not very suitable especially since I needed night shots. I initially made it a little more realistic with brighter city lights of different hues, but in the end they needed the track to be more prominent so everything else became slightly darker.
