Venom Fan Art

Something I worked on lately, two versions:
1) a more painterly one, aim of this (after seeking some counsel from more experienced digital painters) was to create a nice pose and some believable monster anatomy + lighting effects...
2) my initial version, infused partially with my regular 'graphic' approach. alittle bit of chinese painting influences...

wall mural

some time back in november i posted a drawing here that's intended to be painted on the wall, of a burger joint - Relish, located on the second floor of Cluny Court.

this was the drawing, which was drawn with a caligraphy pen, scanned, and traced in Adobe Illustrator (cos i wanted to keep the vector versions):



the owner of the restaurant then got it projected on the wall (around 3.5m in height and 5m in width if i remember correctly) and had some graffiti artist to paint. the owner wanted also, behind the line art, some yellow-orange texture. the result is this:

The Burglar

Just been exploring some doodles for a project I've been working on... radical stuff, for the first time, a client actually wants me to feature LESS of the product but MORE of the concept! Wow!

Thought it made a funny picture... still somewhat of a draft but theres more whimsical stories to come! Oh, don't mind the copy, its all dummy... really.

Bluff parts 1 - 5

a 5-part story of Hiddon, a character with a compulsion to lie and a perpetual need for acceptance.

had posted parts of this story ealier.
finally found the time to complete it.
changed the previously grey grungey background to white.
now the panel 'pops' better.

batman bandwagon - joker take 2

heeding drewscape's advise, i did a re-invention of sort, of the joker and his sidekick/girlfriend harley quinn.

this joker is still the same psychopath, but a lot younger, with a bit of marilyn manson and the crow. as for harley quinn... she's still the damsel in the same abusive relationship she cannot get out of. and in this drawing she is high on substance. for harley, i did some research on courtney love. :P

He's grumpy. He's mean. He beats up the gangstas. He's the mouseman. Pen on paper. Colours and textures added in photoshop.

I've finally found out how Ashley Wood (most probably) colours his lines. In photoshop, you add a layer above your b/w line drawing, then set it to "linear dodge" filter. Then colour in that layer. The line colour will change depending on which area you add colour to.
