Fantasy and Manga Artists Wanted
Two local theme cafes are looking for artists to showcase art in their spaces! I'd love to get in touch with any and all local fantasy artists and Manga artists interested in exhibiting their work for sale and in doing meet-ups at these venues. Let's start celebrating the local talent in these 2 genres and putting the art on some walls! Please email marrael [at] hotmail [dot] com and I'll send the information so far, as this is a new project - specify what type of art you work in. Thank you! - Janet

dark & stormy knight
"and everywhere the dark knight went
his bats were sure to go."
another repaint.
my last.
i was talking abt this piece with my friend over msn
and managed to grab a pretty cool screen shot.
if you notice at the bottom it has tt msn pop up text which
reads "can't fight passion, man."
we were talking abt how cliche the word passion was
being cynical and said that well the word "passion"
only belonged to delusssional first year design/art students.
the real world isnt as pretty as we dreamt tits to be.
well maybe i'm still that first yr student (the work clearly shows...snigger...)
perhaps buying that lamboreghini or super model might have to wait.
right now passion drives us to greater heights
even when there are disappointments in life.
so push on my friends!
keep sketching dont give up!

:D
Yummy Yummy Yummy! I've got love in my tummy...
((:
A piece done for a cheerful customer who loves Japanese/Meji snacks and food.
gone shopping
Done in PS. Was trying to fuse both digi painting and fashion illust together. I kinda like how the background turned out. Trying to mimic a real ball point pen wasn't easy but i guess it looks passable here : P Hopefully if time and brain juice permits, i'll do a series!

My Island Home.
My Island Home!
A little late in time for National day, but well, I drew this last night for a client who wanted a sketch of Singapore.
This reminded me of the IMD 06 and EXPLORE Singapore 06 campaign illustrations I worked a bit on, during my internship.

Banner submissions for Culturepush
My name is Michele Adriaens and I am a contributor to a new local webzine called Culturepush. We are a Singapore-centric blog supporting Singapore-based talent and writing about cool stuff in art, culture and design. We offer artists the opportunity to design a banner for our webzine in line with these guidelines. The banner will be published on every page and the artist will be credited in the sidebar for the period that the design is displayed. Once it's taken down, it will enjoy a permanent place in our banner gallery with a link to your website and/or contact information. If we especially dig an artist, we will feature their work in a dedicated post on our main blog for the world to see!

The Wild Orient
Here's one intensive project I did with Whitewords. It was for a client in Dublin. Lotsa freeplay was given but just found the end print result when they put it up a tad bit too small but it was great tedious fun!

Hihi!
Hello!
I'm dawn and I like red and polka dots A LOT.
Haha. I earn a living by doing custom made collages and paintings. When I'm not painting or drawing at home, I get paint spilled all over myself at the little art studio I'm teaching at. I teach kids by the way. I think they are funny people and they make my life so much more interesting.
My permanent blog is over here
Thanks Andrew , for the invite!
See you around!
(:

shophouse wor!
Hi all, just thought I share another piece of work I did many years ago for the National arts Council AR. It also belongs to a series of stuff for the chapter dividers, but this one is my favourite piece. Don't quite remember what I wrote though… I used my old calligraphy pen (from secondary school days wor… super old and rusty) to create these strokes.

Greetings fellow doodllers!
Glad to be part of this blog. Anyway… I haven't been doodling much of late, but thought I share with you guys a doodle I did many moons ago. I kind of like the way it turned out. Was trying out painting on chinese calligraphy paper (the type you use to practise your letterings one.) Thought the effect turned out quite nice, so I did a couple more… will post it up on my blog (which I am still constructing!).
