Anthony Lister

Check out art by Anthony Lister here. His main theme is superheroes but with very strange proportions. Looks like he has deconstructed them and assembled them together in his own way. I like his bumpy lines which he uses to create the texture if the suits. His lines look randomly and recklessly placed but somehow they miraculously work. Looking at his studio shots, the paintings are huge. Not something people would imitate easily coz it looks like too much work to squeeze paint over large canvases.

Feel free to introduce your admired artists.

Interesting take on the characters. Looks like something that could have come out of the Arkham Asylum graphic novel..

That is really inspiring! thanks for bringing his art to our attention :)

i think it's exactly what i was looking out for and thinking about whimsically from time to time, and i imagined there MUST BE someone out there who does art like this... and THERE IS! :)
