Experimenting with Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality - is overlaying virtual objects on physical objects seen through a camera. A more concise definition is: Augmented Reality (AR), also known as “Mixed Reality” is where virtual and real objects appear together in a real time system. Source: www.artag.net
For 2 weeks a couple of months ago or so, I’ve been testing the AR system I downloaded from the above source to be used on my own 3D objects. To make it more fun, I created an avatar of myself: a box figure (which looks like the paper box figure I created of myself). I managed to understand and change the config file so my virtual objects can be recognized by the system, and I successfully “tag” it with a marker. See above test.
I hope to understand it better to make my own AR game.Home Made Augmented Reality with a PC from Don Low on Vimeo.

Giving my artwork for charity
OIC Figure Drawing 9 June 2009
Yesterday was not only my first OIC figure drawing session, it was my first figure drawing session ever. So I was totally unprepared for the break neck speed of the 1 min to 3 min warm-up poses. I think I'll spare everyone the "exercise in futility" of the initial incomplete lines and cut straight to the more relaxing 5 min to 10 min poses heh... Thanks again to organisers and participants alike! Saw some really cool renderings yesterday, hope to see the rest of the group post them up! :)
OIC @ Hypercolor
Thanks to STEVE LAWLER aka Mojoko for organising "HYPERCOLOR" - Quite afew OIC members were invited to take part- Brick, Eeshaun, Twisstii, Kuanth, Sokkuan, Mindflyer & Sheryo. Do RSVP and pop by! ( Do note that the final artwork is yet to be seen. These alphabets are teasers and for titling only )

Carbon Chalk is Fun
Some photos from Figure Drawing Session 03. There was too much to draw and too little time, and the model was real good!! Luckily someone took pics. Check out the photos here. ( thanks Flee and also thanks to TianYun, Twisstii, Zeropointfive and MrB and all those who helped. )

"I saved the day."
tech question>>I scanned in the image at 1oo dpi , but not sure why the image is still so small when clicked on the thumbnail, hence the words looked so small. but when I see it in photoshop at 100%, it looked alright. Anybody knows why? What's the best practice?.tks
Melbourne Portrait Day turned Sketchwalk.
No one sat outside because it was so cold, and we weren't allowed to do it inside because we'd be "disturbing the patrons", so we took portrait day to Carlton Gardens. And... again, because it was so frosty, no one stopped to pose for us except this lady. :D
But she was the only one. :X By then we were freezing our fingers off and decided to head to an indoors cafe to sketch people instead (trying to keep to the portrait day theme)
A friend showed his portrait to the gentleman he was drawing, and he treated us to beer and coffee in exchange for the drawing. :D
After that, a bit of sketchwalking in the city and stopped because it was too cold to continue. I headed back towards my place to do some more drawing and was joined by this Korean girl, who watched me draw this shop. She mentioned she used to draw as well, so I passed some of my cardboards to her and we both drew until it started drizzling.
and that was the failed attempt at Portrait Day in Melbourne. :P
PS: the cardboard was from the remnants of a box i used to make a sign for portrait day. was gonna post that up as well, but it has "gone with the wind".
