The Rhodia No. 12 Exhibition

-Just got this in the email yesterday ;)-

The Rhodia No. 12 Exhibition spreads the love of a certain nerd-esque orange French beauty (i.e. notepad). BooksActually has invited 50 individuals from various creative disciplines: poets, designers, sound-artists, photographers and architects... to try their hand at creating high-art out of the 1930s cult notepad. The legendary beauty's signature orange covers are scored near the top to fold neatly behind the pad while writing.

Today, about 80 years later, the Rhodia is still very beloved (and very orange!) These 50 individuals were each given a month to familiarize themselves with the pocket-sized Rhodia No. 12 notepad (the preferred size of the internationally renown fashion designer Paul Smith), and create something pretty with the same medium. Their final creations are now being displayed at a month-long exhibition at BooksActually from 6 November till 5 December 2006. Afterwhich, these 50 pieces will have the luxury of going on a world-tour; its first stop being in a lovely store, Kapok, in Hong Kong.

Once again, the details of the Rhodia No. 12 exhibition.
